Gary Cordray and his wife, Nicole, started Cordray Electric in September 2000 with only $500, three employees and an old 1987 Mazda truck. Their first office was in their kitchen, where Nicole would handle the accounting and
Gary
would handle the electrical field work with his brother, Stephen. Gary and Stephen had already worked together as electricians for many years with various electrical companies, and had gained valuable insight on the right way to run an electrical contracting business. In the years since, Cordray Electric has grown into a reputable, trusted commercial electrical contractor.
Cordray Electric was recently featured in the Albuquerque Journal’s Business OutlookÓ for our “Expanding ‘Family’”, where
Gary
attributed the company’s success to only providing permanent employment. Gary and Stephen look at their employees as an extended family, hiring experienced, knowledgeable electricians for the long-term rather than for the near future or a specific job.
Cordray Electric delivers prompt, professional electrical service regionally through our skilled team. Our primary business and reputation is built upon customer relationships, many of which began at our company’s creation. We deal with our customers, employees and vendors with fairness, integrity and a partnering approach. Our mission is to continue meeting all of the electrical construction and service requirements of our existing customers, while establishing new relationships with other reputable companies.
We are actively involved in the community. We want to help Albuquerque grow in order to provide a better future filled with positive opportunities. Cordray Electric’s business memberships include the American Subcontractors Association of New Mexico and the Better Business Bureau. Community association affiliations include the Boy Scouts of America and UNM Lobo Club. We have also provided in-kind or financial donations to Casa Esperanza, Disabled American Veterans, Muscular Dystrophy Association and Habitat for Humanity, to name a few. |
